The Friends of St Peters are looking to hear from organisations and individuals interested in using the Sudbury landmark for creative events.

Last month, the church hosted a theatre production called Anglian Mist.

Organisers say the feedback was so positive they want to build on the success.

Chairman of the Friends of St Peters, Peter Gray said: “This was a bold move for St Peter’s and part of a trial of new kind of events to be hosted in the venue following feedback from the local community.

“While St Peter’s has traditionally been a ‘hall for hire’ the Friends of St Peter’s are overseeing a regeneration project in partnership with the Churches Conservation Trust.

“We are hoping that this will lead to the building being used to host more contemporary events alongside those currently taking place in the venue”. Anglian Mist was a sell-out show and raised £1,600 toward the churches regeneration project.

The next event will be a performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, at 7.30pm on Friday, December 22.
