A 38-YEAR-old mother of three died of a “penetrating chest injury”, a post mortem has confirmed.
Police have this lunchtime named the victim as 38-year-old Mary Griffiths, who lived in Bull Rush Crescent, Bury St Edmunds.
She was found seriously injured at her home early yesterday morning, and was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital where she died a short time later.
The post mortem examination has established the cause of death as a penetrating chest injury.
A 40-year-old male from the Bury St Edmunds area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital.
Investigations are ongoing this afternoon at properties on Bull Rush Crescent and Bockhill Road in Bury St Edmunds.
