A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was knifed this morning.
Police were called to The Square in the Shrub End area of Colchester, at 4.30am after a 21-year-old man was stabbed in his stomach.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he is in a serious, but not life-threatening, condition.
Officers from Essex Police's dog unit searched the surrounding area and arrested the 26-year-old nearby and he is currently being held in custody.
