For 80 years theatre, performing and show business have been a way of life for Sidi Scott.
The Southwold resident first took to the stage aged three at Bristol Hippodrome, and it was this first taste of live performance which sparked an interest that has lasted a lifetime.
Her stage career saw her work alongside familiar faces such as Tommy Cooper, Tommy Steele, Bob Hope and Norman Wisdom - to name but a few.
And this summer the 83-year-old will tread the boards once more in her step-by-step talk, Sidi Scott – My Passion for Ballet, to be performed at Southwold Arts Festival 2017.
She said: 'I will be running through the history of ballet right up until today and telling the audience what it is like to be a dancer while also going off on tangents with tales and anecdotes.
'I love performing. Its not showing off, it is sharing with others the most important thing in my life.'
Anecdotes are something Mrs Scott has in abundance from hosting Sean Connery for two weeks on a sofa bed in the West End to using an umbrella to 'bat out' the King of Egypt after he entered the girl's dressing room at a London nightclub where she worked.
It was through the theatre that she also met her husband, the composer Derek Scott, in 1953 while attending a Norman Wisdom show at the London Palladium.
Mr Scott was a well-known figure for his work with comedian Tony Hancock and for being the music director for The Muppet Show.
The couple went on to have two children – Nikki and Emma – both of whom Mrs Scott explains are involved in the performance world.
Throughout the 50's, 60's and 70's the family lived a busy life entwined with the theatre and the performing arts but a short break to Southwold saw the couple fall in love with the Suffolk coast.
'We came here for an afternoon and stayed for a lifetime - that is exactly how it happened. Derek and I came here one August Bank Holiday with our children to rest and relax.
'And we both turned to each other and said 'its lovely here, lets look for a house',' she said.
Following this impulsive decision the couple moved to nearby Wangford in 1982, eventually moving to Southwold some years later, before Mr Scott passed away in 2006 aged 84.
However, through appearances in productions by the Jill Freud Summer Theatre in Southwold, Mrs Scott has still been able to do the thing she loves most – performing live on stage.
And despite appearing at prestigious theatres in the West End Mrs Scott's favourite performance is one that was staged in her beloved Southwold, as part of the Jill Freud Summer Theatre.
Sidi said: 'I look back at a lifetime of fun. My favourite performance was in Steppin' Out as part of the Jill Freud Summer Theatre.
'It was so much fun and I had a funny part, I was able to do a little bit of dancing as well as being a part of the choreography and during the show I even had the chance to sit down!'
Sidi Scott – My Passion for Ballet will be performed from 3pm on June 26 at St Edmund's Hall in Southwold.
