CHILDREN have been having fun while learning about sports during an Olympic Week organised by their school.

The event took place at Combs Ford Primary School, near Stowmarket. The activities began when three local torch bearers visited the school and told students about the Olympic torch relay.

The youngsters then held their own torch relay from class to class.

They held their own opening ceremony and then arranged themselves in the shape of the famous Olympic rings design in the school playground.

Headteacher Russell Clark said: “The whole week was an amazing experience for the children and staff alike.

“We are very grateful to all of coaches that came along, the three torch bearers who allowed the children to hold the torches and explained how and why they had been selected, and of course, to Miss Boyden for taking the time to plan such a wonderful week of events.”

A variety of sports coaches visited the school throughout the week.

They helped the children try out a wide range of sports, including curling.
