Singer Jade Mayjean Peters, who wowed a TV audience of 8.3 million people on BBC’s The Voice, is set to be one of the headline acts for this year’s StowFiesta.

On the blind audition show, Jade had Kylie Minogue, Tom Jones and will.i.am all fighting to have her on their team. The Ipswich-based singer chose to join Team Kylie and progressed through to Kylie’s final three.

Event organiser David Marsh said: “We’re incredibly proud and excited to have Jade at StowFiesta, with the stages of live music, comedy and family entertainment, it really can’t be missed.”

She will be appearing on the Gipping Press stage which will be showcasing some the region’s best tribute acts and cover bands.

The event is being supported by the East Anglian Daily Times and its sister title the Stowmarket Mercury and will also feature stand-up comedy, Punch and Judy, local dance acts, circus skills, plus much more - all for free. Among the bands confirmed are East Anglian-based Ska’d 4 Life, Tallowah, East Town Pirates, Walkway, Voodoo Child and The Dirty Fairies – plus acts from further afield including funk band Mojo Jojo from Brighton, Finding Albert from Edinburgh and dance-rock outfit The Onironauts.

Mr Marsh added: “We’ve got some amazing bands from all over the country on the bill, plus the cream of the local music scene. We’ve also got the Amplitude Stage featuring young bands from the Amplitude project.”

Charities wanting to book a free stall at StowFiesta 2014 should email sianc@stowmarket.org with details of what their stall will be providing and the cause they will be supporting.

Comedian Danny Ward, who won ‘Best Show’ at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe will also perform.
