A cheque for thousands of pounds has been handed over by a fundraising athletics club to MS-UK.
The £3,000 cheque was the latest donation to the charity from Stowmarket Striders, which donates its profits each year from the Stowmarket Half Marathon, in memory of Joe Cox.
Surrounded by club members the charity’s events co-ordinator, Sam Harper, received the cheque on behalf of the charity from race director Les Basham, chairman Stuart Green and Robert Tomlinson, whose company, Tomlinson’s Groundcare, hosts the race each year from its Buxhall base. Over the last eight years the running club, which has around 300 members of all ages and abilities, has donated more than £12,000 to MS-UK.
