THE boss of a woman who has been nominated as teacher of the year has paid tribute to her achievements.
Teacher Laura Wilbourn has only been working at Stradbroke CEVC Primary School for less than three years but her talents have already caught the eye.
Miss Wilbourn is up for primary school teacher of the year at the 2013 Pearson Teaching Awards. Acting headteacher Linda Walsh said: “She’s a fabulous teacher, it’s a great achievement. She has had many accolades from different people, it’s been wonderful.
“We had a fabulous morning with the judges, we had a special assembly and parents came to support her. We are just so proud of the whole school; we work closely as a team.
“We are very supportive of each other and Laura has developed and shone at the school. She has brought so many fantastic ideas to the school.”
