A MOTORIST is in hospital tonight after suffering injuries in a four-vehicle accident.

The incident happened on the A12 at Stratford St Andrew just before 4.45pm today.

A police spokesman said one person who sustained non-serious injuries was taken to Ipswich Hospital.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue service spokesman said: “One casualty was medically trapped. The crews stabilised the vehicle and removed the roof in order to release the casualty.

“The incident was under control at 6.26pm and the casualty was handed over into the care of the ambulance.”

No other injuries were reported.

The four vehicles involved were a Peugeot 306, a Volkswagen Polo, an Audi A3 and a Fiat.

All cars have been recovered. The road was reopened by 8pm.
