FIRE raged through 100 tonnes of hay on an Essex farm in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Weeley and Clacton were alerted shortly after 2am to the fire, which engulfed 100 tonnes of bailed straw at a farm in Clacton Road, Weeley.
Firefighters used hoses to dampen the surrounding area as the hay was allowed to burn itself out.
The fire was extinguished by 5.12am.
