A stunning image of a rainbow arched over Dedham Vale following Storm Aileen has attracted quite an audience on social media.

Dozens of people have shared the photograph, taken by The Sun Inn owner Piers Baker on Wednesday afternoon.

The snap was captured in the wake of Storm Aileen which brought gusts of up to 60mph to East Anglia.

Mr Baker said: “I was leaving the pub around 6pm and saw part of the rainbow over the pub and took a picture of that thinking it was quite good. But I drive past this view of the vale everyday and it normally reveals something beautiful. Couldn’t quite believe that not only did I see a complete rainbow but also another one above it. So I pulled over and took a panoramic image on my phone. It’s had a lot of love across social media.”

Mr Baker’s photograph features a rare kind of double rainbow with an Alexander’s band separating the two arcs.
