An injured horse which became stuck in a water-filled ditch was rescued by firefighters this morning.
The stricken animal came into difficulties in School Road, Sudbourne at around 9.30am.
Fire crews tied water lines and a hose around the horse, which was freed by 10.35am.
A vet was in attendance throughout the incident to monitor the welfare of the horse.
The horse was left in the care of the owner and its vet.
