FIRE crews from Sudbury rescued one person from a flat fire last night.
Two crews from Sudbury were called to the fire in Poplar Road, Great Cornard, at 11.48pm following reports of smoke issuing from a flat.
They were also informed that someone was believed to be in the flat and a further crew from Long Melford was mobilised.
The crews used rapid entry techniques to gain access to the flat, using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel to rescue one person from the flat.
The incident was dealt with by 12.21am.
