Two people were taken to hospital last night following a two-vehicle crash in Sudbury.

It is thought that one person, a passenger in one the cars involved, had to be cut free from the wreckage following the accident which happened in York Road.

Firefighters from Sudbury and Long Melford were called to the scene of the collision at 9.30pm.

They cut free a passenger, who was left in the care of paramedics.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said two people were taken to the West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds. The severity of their injuries was unknown.
