Sudbury’s Coffee House was converted into a temporary film set yesterday for a comedy film about vampires.
Award-winning London-based director Dan Allan spent the day filming a number of scenes for his untitled short film at the coffee shop.
He asked on Twitter coffee shop owners in the region to offer their premises and chose the Gainsborough Street venue.
Marie Bernardine-Dann, joint company director of The Coffee House, said: “We were over the moon when they chose us.
“The filming went very well and it was really interesting seeing what goes on behind the scenes. What took us by surprise was how long it takes to film – there are lots of different angles they use.
“It is a heartbreak comedy vampire short film and apparently everything went according to plan. They asked us if we wanted to be extras but we were just happy sitting in the background and watching.
“We are not sure if it will be on at any cinemas but I’m sure Dan will tell us.
“We had to keep the filming hush hush during the week but we are looking forward to talking to customers about it on Monday.”
