A vacancy for a town councillor in Sudbury has arisen – with a decision to be made next month.

The role is in the Sudbury South ward and as there have been no requests for a by-election submitted to Babergh District Council, the appointment will be decided by co-option at the full council meeting on Tuesday, June 12, at 7pm.

The role of the town councillor is voluntary and Sudbury Town Council welcomes prospective candidates from all walks of life but they must be over 18-years-old and a British national or a qualifying citizen of the Commonwealth or the European Community.

The town council says it would particularly welcome candidates from under-represented groups such as young people, women and ethnic minorities.

For more information about the role, contact the town clerk, Jacqui Howells, on 01787 372331 or email jacqui.howells@sudburytowncouncil.co.uk
