Services between the two stations have been cancelled until further notice.
Trains between Sudbury and Marks Tey will now be replaced by bus services after train fault on the line.
Greater Anglia expect buses to arrive soon at the stations.
A spokesman for the company said: “Buses have been requested to run in place of trains, we are just awaiting confirmation for the companies and arrival times of the vehicles.”
