Sunshine or showers? Which way will the weather be going for the August Bank Holiday.

Forecasters are predicting that the temperatures will be staying close to average for the long weekend with temperatures getting no higher than around 20 or 21C.

Low pressure coming in from the north west mean that temperatures are up to 10C lower than they were during the Bank Holiday weekend in May.

Forecasters at Weatherquest said that Saturday is looking to be dry if a little chilly.

There will be a lot of sunshine around but with some westerly winds temperatures will only be reaching around 18 or 19C.

Sunday will be the coolest of the three days and also the wettest with rain moving west across the region, providing a cloudy and damp end to the week.

Monday will be much drier with temperatures peaking at 20 or 21C and quite a lot of sunshine around.
