Here is our monthly look back at some of the criminals jailed in Suffolk and north Essex courts in December.

A nightmare neighbour who breached court orders nearly 30 times was jailed for 16 weeks.

Michael Cornwell, 64, of Eve’s Orchard, Bures, swore at his neighbour while she was holding her 15-month-old grandchild and accused her of being nosey. Cornwell admitted breaching a restraining order.

Two men who were involved in a brutal attack were jailed for a total of 26 years.

Scott Foskett, 34, of Ashfield Crescent, Lowestoft, and Daryl Long, 35, of Southend, were found guilty of an attack on a man in his Lowestoft home. They beat him with their fists and a wooden bat leaving him in a coma for three weeks with severe and disfiguring facial injuries.

Four men who sold drugs in Essex were jailed for a collective total of 14 years.

Katakyie Addae-Kodua, 26, from London, Darren Lewin, 22, from Barking, Aiden White, 18, of Windsor and Kyle Bridgeman-Anderson, 22, of Roosevelt Way, were all arrested by Essex Police as part of Operation Raptor, a crackdown on drugs gangs operating in the county.

An Essex man who punched, stabbed and strangled his wife was jailed for one year and six months.

Stuart Wiseman, 44, of Swan Grove, Chappel, near Colchester, admitted actual bodily harm and coercive and controlling behaviour.

A burglar who got caught by dropping his phone at the property he was stealing from was jailed for one year and four months.

John Humphreys, 29, of Clayton Road, Ramsey, burgled an occupied house in Harwich but then dropped his phone in the garden and was identified through his Facebook page.

A drug dealer was jailed for one year and 10 months after admitting to supplying crack cocaine and heroin.

Meshack Christopher, 21, of Millard Terrace, Heathway, Dagenham, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin.

A man who assaulted a door supervisor at a nightclub was jailed for 15 months.

Jesse Baker, 27, of Exeter Court, Haverhill, admitted swinging punches at the doorman when he was refused entry into the club. Baker said he had felt “picked on”.

A drug addict thief was jailed for 26-weeks after shoplifting a day after getting a ‘second chance’.

Reece Burroughs, 30, of no fixed address, was given a suspended 15-week jail sentence for seven shoplifting offences – however he breached his suspended sentence just 24 hours later.

An Ipswich man who attacked his uncle with a hammer was jailed for seven years.

Lee Darton, 46, of Waltham Close, Ipswich, was found guilty of striking his uncle on the top of his head from behind during a family dispute.

A violent London drug dealing gang were jailed for a collective total of more than 41 years.

The “Jay Boys” gang used violence to take over homes of vulnerable addicts in north Essex to deal Class A drugs. The eight member gang ran a “county drugs line” into Clacton supplying crack and heroin over a three-year period.

An alcoholic who breached his anti-social behaviour order more than 30 times was jailed for three years.

Daniel Palmer, 35, of Bobby Road, Bury St Edmunds, was described by a judge as a “persistent drunken nuisance”. Palmer was also told by Recorder Rex Bryan if he carried on the way he was he would end up drinking himself to death.

An Essex teenager who was dealing heroin and cocaine was jailed for two years.

Samuel Stow, 18, of Norfolk Road, Maldon, admitted possessing cocaine and heroin with intent to supply. Judge John Devaux said the offences were so serious that an immediate prison sentence was the only option.
