An online auction of unique plaster casts has raised more than £2,000 towards breast cancer research and has enabled women to share their experiences of the disease.
The Simply the Breast campaign has seen 23 decorated breast plaster casts go under the virtual hammer in aid of the Suffolk Breakthrough Breast Cancer group. The initiative, thought up by Keri Bird, from Bury St Edmunds, has raised £2,015.
Laura Hudson, chair of Suffolk Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: “It’s an absolutely fantastic total raised so I’m just really pleased with the whole thing.” She said a number of the casts had been donated back to the women who had modelled for them.
