An angry Greater Anglia commuter has threatened to send the bailiffs in to rail company Greater Anglia after failing to receive £350 compensation he says he is owed after court action.

But bosses at the rail firm say the legal action is still under way – and it is understood they have not received any warrant demanding the payment.

Seph Pochin who travels from his home in Halesworth to Ipswich every day started the court action last year after working out that he had suffered a total of 14 hours of delays in six months of commuting.

He took a case to the small claims court and was awarded £350 – he then applied for the warrant which would allow bailiffs to seize property.

A spokeswoman for the company said: “We are unable to comment about Seph Pochin’s legal case as legal proceedings are still ongoing.”

It confirmed no warrant had been received.

Although it could not comment on Mr Pochin’s case the company said that according to the industry performance measure, just under 90% of Greater Anglia trains were on time in the last month. On average 23% of delays are directly attributable to Greater Anglia due to incidents such as train faults.

And the spokeswoman added that all the company’s trains – including those on the East Suffolk line between Ipswich and Lowestoft, through Halesworth, would be replaced over the next two years.
