Police were called to reassure staff parents and children at a Suffolk school following reports of an assault.

Officers from Haverhill attended the incident outside Place Farm Primary Academy this morning.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: “We were called just after 10am today, following concerns for safety in Haverhill.

“A man is alleged to have assaulted a man and a woman outside Place Farm School in Camps Road.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”

Haverhill Police tweeted that officers “provided reassurance to staff, parents and children following an incident earlier this morning.

“Police and school staff are working together to provide safeguarding for those involved.”
