Industrial tools, a chainsaw and several pairs of construction boots were among the items stolen during a series of business burglaries in west Suffolk.

The first burglary happened early on Thursday at HSS Hire in Cratfield Road, Bury St Edmunds, when an offender smashed a glass door pane before stealing industrial tools including concrete breakers, drills, a floor sander and other unknown items.

Later that day, an offender was seen leaving an agricultural business in Wickhambrook after the alarm was activated. A chainsaw, strimmer and set of hedge trimmers were stolen from inside.

The third burglary happened at 2.15am on Friday at Travis Perkins in Milner Road, on the Chilton Road Industrial Estate in Sudbury.

Two people forced entry via a side door and stole power tools including, a drill, saws and several pairs of construction boots, among other items.

“Officers are currently keeping an open mind regarding whether these incidents are linked and inquiries are ongoing,” a police spokesman said.
