POLICE officers from Suffolk were today heading to Peterborough to join colleagues from other forces in the region as fears rose of trouble on the streets.

The extreme right-wing English Defence League is planning to hold a march through the multi-cultural city and local anti-Fascist groups, including Muslim groups, have vowed to oppose their views.

There are fears of clashes and police reinforcements from a wide area have been sent to the city in an attempt to ensure the streets remain as peaceful as possible.
