A Suffolk couple have raised thousands of pounds for charity over the past ten years through a spectacular Christmas lights display at their village home.
David Fairweather, 75, and wife Sheila, 73, from Barrow, near Bury St Edmunds, raised more than £1,100 through donations from visitors who flocked to the see their festive lights.
The couple’s Mill Lane home is decorated with colourful Santas, snowmen and reindeer throughout the festive season.
Over the past ten years, the couple’s light show has grown into a major project, and the final installation is checked over by their electrician son. Mr and Mrs Fairweather choose a different charity each year but the proceeds from this year’s display will go to Children with Cancer UK.
Previous recipients include Help for Heroes and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
The husband and wife are now busy packing away their extensive collection of lights in every bit of storage space available ready for December.
