FIRE crews have been dealing with a spate of chimney fires this evening.

Suffolk fire service was called to the first fire in Daking Avenue, Boxford at 4.59pm.

A fire engine from Hadleigh attended the incident but the chimney fire was out by the time they arrived so crews gave the resident advice.

The were back at their home station by 5.43pm.

The second incident took place in Mill Road, Honington at 5.03pm.

A fire engine from Ixworth attended the scene and crews brought the fire under control by 5.52pm by using chimney rods.

The third incident happened in Melton Road, Melton at 5.34pm.

A fire engine from Woodbridge was called to the scene and arrived at 5.45pm.

The incident was brought under control by 6pm.

Crews were later called to Reydon, near Southwold, and dealt with a chimney that was “well alight” upon arrival.

The fire crew arrived in Windsor Road at about 8.43pm and the blaze was under control by 10pm.
