The Environment Agency has put several flood alerts in place after the region was battered by heavy winds and torrential rain overnight.
Water levels have risen on Rattlesden River and the River Gipping due to last night’s rainfall with the peak of the river now near Stowmarket.
There are also flood alerts at Bury Brook, the River Gipping from downstream of Needham Market to upstream of London Road Bridge in Ipswich.
The River Deben from Debenham to Bromeswell and the River Lark from Clopton to Martlesham also has a flood alert in place with increasing water levels along with the River Thet at Thetford and Brandon and the Little Ouse and tributaries in Suffolk and Norfolk.
