Flooding has closed roads in some parts of the region.

Flooding has closed roads in some parts of the region.

Overnight rain and winds continued to batter the region overnight, but there were no reports of further severe disruption on Saturday morning.

The Environment Agency has issued a new Flood Warning for the River Stour between Boxted and Dedham, warning that flooding is expected and that owners of low-lying property should take precautions.

But emergency services said they had not heard of major new incidents overnight.

Weather forecasters expect the weekend, and into Monday, to be mainly dry but with a few showers which could be heavy.

And there is a warning that heavy rain could return on Tuesday – falling on land that is still sodden from the storms of the last few days.
