Forecasters have predicted some warmer weather in the region this week – and temperatures could hit the 26C (78F) mark on Wednesday.

According to the Met Office, today should see some good sunny spells, after a cloudy start, and it will feel warm with a high temperature of 24C (75F).

Tuesday is expected to be a cloudy day but it will remain dry. Some brighter spells could develop in the late afternoon and early evening.

High temperatures are forecast on Wednesday but Suffolk and north Essex could see some outbreaks of rain in the afternoon.

On Thursday, a mix of scattered showers and sunny spells is forecast, followed by a dry and bright day on Friday with some sunshine.
