A fire in a busy Suffolk high street is said to have caused “chaotic” scenes – though the blaze has been quickly dealt with.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to a fire in Woodbridge, Thoroughfare, at around 4.35pm.
One man, who had parked up in the street, said the blaze was in M&Co, the clothing store.
“There are firemen everywhere,” he added.
“There are people reversing up the road and coming smashing out at the junction.
“It’s chaos.”
SFRS’s incident log shows crews from Ipswich East and Woodbridge were in attendance and had dealt with the fire by 5.05pm.
A reporter for this newspaper attended the scene and by 5.30pm there were no signs of disruption or major damage to any buildings.
