Fire crews in Suffolk have reported a busy night attending reports of fire which turn out to be bonfires under control.

In a statement the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said crew had been called out “numerous times” due to such reports over Guy Fawkes Night and into the early morning.

Crews did however extinguish some fires.

A crew from Ipswich Road in Nacton attended a small area of wasteland where a fire was extinguished using a water back pack and beaters.

A fire engine from Princes Street in Ipswich also extinguished a pallet fire to the rear of St Matthews Street with a hose reel.
