FIREFIGHTERS were on the scene of a major barn blaze near Woodbridge on Sunday afternoon.
A total of 300 tonnes of straw was on fire in the Dutch barn at a farm in Church Road, Sutton, with fire crews from Woodbridge and Orford on the scene to keep it under control.
They surrounded the blaze and took action to prevent it from spreading to other buildings, spraying water over other equipment to cool it down.
The fire was then being allowed to burn itself out while the crew from Woodbridge remained on site to ensure it did not flare up dangerously again.
