The heatwave is set to continue in Suffolk today, but forecasters warned yesterday’s soaring temperatures will not be beaten.
Weatherquest forecaster Chris Bell predicted temperatures to reach 27C (80F) in western parts of the county today, a slight fall from yesterday’s high of 29.5C (85F) seen in the village of Cavendish, near Sudbury.
Coastal regions and Ipswich will see slightly cooler conditions of 25C (77F).
Meanwhile, people flocking to the 2013 Latitude Festival at Henham Park, Southwold, today for the four-day event can expect to top up their tans, Mr Bell added.
However, he said weekend temperatures will drop off and there will be a higher risk of cloud.
