SUFFOLK lifted the FA County Youth Cup for the second time in four seasons after a thrilling final at Portman Road.

They hung on to defeat a strong Cambridgeshire side 2-1 after being under the cosh for most of the match.

Luke Read gave Suffolk the lead with just two minutes played and a deflected Ben Garnham shot made it 2-0 after 15 minutes.

Adam Marriott pulled a goal back two minutes later for the visitors, who then wasted a succession of good opportunities to draw level as goalkeeper Tom Ross pulled off some fine saves.
