One lucky lottery winner is celebrating today after scooping £1million from a ticket bought in Suffolk.
Camelot, the company which operates the National Lottery, announced today that a EuroMillions prize bought in the Babergh district had been claimed.
The winning ticket was purchased four weeks ago – prompting an appeal by lottery bosses for the buyer to come forward.
It had been bought on August 15 and was picked from the EuroMillions draw the following evening, but went unclaimed for almost a month until today.
Andy Carter is senior winners advisor at the National Lottery.
He said: “We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.
“It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this life-changing amount of money.
“We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play.”
