A 30-year-old man is due to appear before magistrates in Ipswich on Monday charged with four counts of fraud and one of passing counterfeit currency following incidents in Felixstowe, Martlesham Heath and Nacton.
Kevin Paddick, of Wellesley Road, Clacton-on-Sea, was arrested by Suffolk Police in April following incidents where cashiers at various businesses were approached to change bank notes.
After an investigation by police he has now been charged with fraud offences relating to incidents at premises in Felixstowe Road in Nacton on November 9 last year, at Gloster Road at Martlesham Heath on Saturday March 3, and on April 4 at both High Road West in Felixstowe, and Felixstowe Road, Nacton.
He is due to appear before South-East Suffolk Magistrates from 10am on Monday.
