A Suffolk man had a knife held to his throat and was robbed of £350 after being forced into a car, it has been alleged.

Lee Sadler had driven to Farm Foods in Bury St Edmunds on November 24 last year and was returning to his car when he heard shouting and saw two men he recognised as Kurtis Jenkins and Daniel Green, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Green was allegedly carrying a knife and Mr Sadler was forced into the rear of a car where Jenkins allegedly told him to “hand over anything that he had on him,” said Charles Kellett, prosecuting.

Green had allegedly then held a knife to Mr Sadler’s throat and when Jenkins saw Mr Sadler looking at the door handle he threatened to stab him if he tried to open it.

The hood of Mr Sadler’s top was pulled over his head and fearing what might happen to him Mr Sadler handed over £350 cash from his pocket, said Mr Kellett.

He was allowed to leave the car when it stopped at traffic lights.

Jenkins, 23, of Tayfen Road, Bury St Edmunds and Green, 25, of Virmire Close, Great Barton, have both denied robbing Mr Sadler, false imprisonment, having a knife on November 24 and attempting to rob Marcus Gamson on November 29.

Jenkins has also denied having a metal bar at Ipswich Court in Bury St Edmunds on November 29 and Green has denied having a knife.

The court heard that several days after the alleged robbery Mr Sadler was at Ipswich Court in Bury St Edmunds when Jenkins and Green sent a message saying they were coming round to stab him.

When they arrived at Ipswich Court, Marcus Gamson went to the door and Green was allegedly seen holding a knife and Jenkins allegedly had a metal bar, said Mr Kellett.

Mr Gamson tried to calm things down but Jenkins and Green believed Mr Sadler was there and said they wanted to see him.

There was CCTV at the premises and Green was allegedly seen stabbing at the door as he and Jenkins allegedly tried to force their way in, said Mr Kellett.

The trial continues.
