Two new directors have been appointed to sit on the region’s mental health trust board.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust announced the appointment of Marion Saunders and Tim Newcomb as new non-executive directors.

Tim Newcomb spent 30 years in the police, leading a regional group responding to mental health challenges as assistant chief constable for Suffolk Constabulary. He said: “I’m excited about bringing my experience of partnership working to the mental health arena. I want to ensure that the trust maintains a relentless focus on quality of service to patients and carers – in particular that feedback related to their issues and concerns is acted upon.”

Marion Saunders, from north Norfolk, is a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council Fitness to Practice Committee and a specialist advisor of safeguarding matters to the Care Quality Commission. She also has previous NHS board level experience as a chairman of a Primary Care Trust and currently as non-executive director with social housing and the insurance industry.
