A PILOT and passenger had a miraculous escape after an aircraft crashed into a ditch on a farm close to the Suffolk/Essex border.
All emergency services were called to the scene at Campions Hill in Nayland at 10am.
The aircraft was attempting to land in nearby Nayland Airfield but travelled through a field and a footpath before crashing in the driveway of Smokey Farm.
The male passenger sustained facial injuries and fractures to his wrist and ankle. The pilot was left unharmed but both were taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.
