AN inquest will open today into the death of a toddler who died after being struck by a truck on a Norfolk farm.

The 22-month-old boy, who has been named as Edward Criddle by the coroner, died at the farm off Fersfield Road, Kenninghall, on Thursday after being hit by a silver Nissan pick-up truck at about 4pm.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death was launched by Norfolk Police with assistance from the Health and Safety Executive.

The inquest of the boy will be opened tomorrow afternoon in Norwich. Norfolk coroner William Armstrong will open the inquest.

Investigations continue into the cause of the collision and a specialist officer is supporting the family.
