A MAN in his 20s was cut free after a road accident on the A14/A140 junction at Coddenham late on Saturday night.

Four men were in a Honda Civic which left the road shortly before 11.30pm. One of the passengers was seriously injured when the car fell on top of him after the accident.

Three fire crews were called to cut him free of the wreckage, and doctors from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service joined ambulance paramedics to free the man.

He was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where his injuries are understood to be serious but not life-threatening.

The driver and the other two passengers in the car were not injured in the accident.
