A busy north Suffolk road has reopened after a serious crash left people trapped inside the vehicle.

Suffolk police received reports of a single vehicle collision on the A47 near Rackham’s Corner, north of Lowestoft, at around 11.05am.

A Ford Focus was travelling in the southbound carriageway when the crash happened.

“There are reports of injuries and the ambulance service has been called,” a police spokesman said.

“There are also reports of people trapped inside.”

Four fire crews attended to help free the casualties.

Suffolk police has since confirmed the road has reopened.

A force spokesman said two people were taken to James Paget Hospital as a precautionary measure.
