Two arrested in Christchurch Park over supply of drugs

A large sum of cash was found when police searched a man, 20, and a 17-year-old boy as they were arrested in an Ipswich park.

The duo were arrested on Thursday afternoon on suspicion of supplying drugs in the park after police officers witnessed suspicious activity between two males.

They were challenged by officers as they were walking towards the Crown Street exit.

A suspected wrap of cannabis was recovered from one male whilst the other was searched and was found to have £500 in cash and mobile phone on him.

They were taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and have both been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Elsewhere in the town yesterday morning, in a separate incident, a 49 year old man was arrested for drug offences following a warrant at an address on Moore Road.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of class B or C drugs and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

He was also taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.
