Witnesses to a serious crash in Suffolk which saw a van driver airlifted to hospital are being urged to contact police.

The crashed happened yesterday at around 10.55am on the B1115 in Great Finborough, near to Poplar Farm, and involved a tractor with a trailer and a white Ford Transit van.

Both vehicles were travelling towards Stowmarket when the tractor is reported to have made a turn into a small entrance.

Suffolk police said the van manoeuvred around two other vehicles, which were waiting behind the tractor, and went into a ditch.

The van driver, a man in his late 30s, suffered multiple factures in his legs and pelvis and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for treatment.

The road was closed until 2.30pm

Witnesses who saw the collision or either vehicle before the crash are asked to contact Bury St Edmunds Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting CAD number 155 of Monday March 12.
