Christmas will not being coming to a Bury St Edmunds pub after damage caused by a fire in the adjoining property.
The One Bull pub, on Angel Hill, was damaged when fire tore through the neighbouring Cycle King shop earlier this month.
In a statement on the pub’s website David and Roxane Marjoram, who own the establishment, expressed their sadness that they would be unable to fulfil the Christmas meals that had been booked at the pub.
The pair had hoped that the business would be back up and running by the middle of November but water damage sustained during the fire fighting effort at Cycle King meant the pub would need more time to recover.
Some of the meals that had already been booked were transferred to the pub’s sister sites in Ingham and Hartest. Those unable to move will have their deposits refunded.
The couple hopes that the pub will reopen some time in 2018.
