Despite being under pressure with thousands of people travelling to London for the Olympics, the rail service has been holding up well.

Extra services have been put on and there have been no major delays on the mainline between Ipswich and London.

Greater Anglia are putting on more trains which are running later into the night to cope with the expected extra demand while Saturday services will be available during the Games.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: “So far, on the mainline service to Stratford and London Liverpool Street, we have not experienced any significant problems.”
