A road has reopened after fire crews worked to cut two casualties out of two vehicles following crash involving the cars and a lorry near Newmarket.

Emergency services were called just after midday to reports of the collision on the A142, as it crosses the A14 at junction 37.

Two fire crews were attending, both from Newmarket station and an ambulance was also at the scene.

The road remained closed while recovery was organised for both of the cars.

Highways Suffolk were also called as one of the cars was leaking fluid onto the road which needed to be cleaned.

Two people have now successfully been removed from the cars and are now under the care of paramedics.
