CRICKET: Suffolk will visit Shropshire in the quarter-finals of the Minor Counties Cricket Association Knock-Out Trophy.
And this will give Justin Bishop’s side a chance to gain revenge for their semi-final defeat at Copdock in the extreme heat of early August 2003.
Suffolk won their last two group matches to finish runners-up behind Lincolnshire after gaining just one point – from a wash-out against Norfolk – in their opening two games.
They pipped Cambridgeshire on superior run rate and meet Shropshire on Sunday June 13. Shropshire ended on the same number of points as Cheshire in Group A, but won the group on run rate.
It was Cheshire that Suffolk beat in their one final appearance at Lord’s in 2007.
The quarter final draw is: Lincolnshire v Cheshire, Dorset v Wiltshire, Shropshire v Suffolk, Devon v Hertfordshire.
