A DRAWING from Lucian Freud’s first exhibition that sold for about £15 could fetch a cool quarter-of-a-million at auction this spring.
The revered East Anglian School painter’s Oil-bound Puffin is estimated to sell for £200,000-£300,000 when it goes up at Bonhams, in New Bond Street, on May 29.
Freud, who died in 2011, completed the piece aged 22 and picked up 13 guineas for it in 1944.
The grandson of Sigmund Freud attended art college in Hadleigh.
His daughter, Esther, and his niece, Emma, both lives in the region.
