Hundreds of people are set to descend on Haverhill at the weekend for the town’s popular beer and music festival.

The event, which is now in its fourth year, will take place on Saturday, July 7, and Sunday, July 8, with street entertainment, live music and a range of craft beers to sample.

Saturday will see an impressive line-up of professional performers share Market Square with regular market traders, while Sunday sees an afternoon set of easy-listening covers from Joe and Shell.

Alaric Pugh, St Edmundsbury cabinet member for planning and growth, said: “The council has made the health of our high streets a priority and I believe Haverhill, with its lovely quality of there always being time for a word with neighbours, shop keepers, market traders and all, has something special.

“It offers all the shops, services and amenities you’d expect of Suffolk’s fourth largest town, but feels more like a friendly village.

“Our aim in supporting events like this festival is to encourage surrounding villages to have another look at Haverhill, discover how things have changed by enjoying some time here and use it as their high street too.”
